image On the Android front, the Motorola Droid has been the only device running  on Android 2.0 and soon 2.1. The most conveyed feature of Android 2.x is the Google turn-by-turn navigation app that Google will retrofit to Android 1.6  devices. But Android 2.0 also brings several enhancements to the user experience as well

Today Verizon said that that the HTC Droid Eris, Verizon’s other Android phone, will receive a major software overhaul in the first quarter of 2010. Verizon spokesperson Brenda Raney said, "The Droid Eris currently using Android 1.5, can and will be upgraded to newer a Android operating system software in first quarter 2010. The enhancement will allow customers to continue to enjoy the powerful HTC Sense experience while also gaining the additional benefits of Google Maps Navigation."

As you know, HTC Eris heavily twists the user interface with HTC Sense UI, it is interesting to see how Sense UI on Android 2.x and keyboardless-Eris will compete with the Moto Droid.
