Google is Getting to Your Living Room TV
Google main source of revenue has been the advertisement on the Internet. Google has tried to get in to radio but abandoned shortly after.
Two days ago, Google partners with Intel to make an attempt to get in to the mainstream television.
Both companies have team with Sony to develop a platform called Google TV to bring the Web into the living room through a new generation of televisions and set-top boxes.
There are so many solutions to bring the Web to the living room, so far very little success with broad adoption has been seen.
The Google TV platform will be based on an Android set-top box and later it could be part of the TV set. A developer tool kit will be made available shortly by Google. Application and TV contents will be available for this platform. Audience surely will see Google ads embedded in the contents.
Google is expected to deliver a toolkit to outside programmers within the next couple of months, and products based on the software could appear as soon as this summer.
