The traditional input method with physical keyboard and mouse have been challenged again by Apple innovation. On the mobile device, Apple opts for soft keyboard and use the finger touch to input text as well as to navigate directly on the display. On the desktop/laptop side, keyboard is still not yet replaceable but the mouse is seriously in jeopardy by the latest Apple Magic Track pad. The stylish Magic Mouse is still available, in case you can’t live with the mice-be-gone idea.
With one single large glass surface with aluminum casing, the pad is connected wirelessly to the computer via Bluetooth, the Magic Trackpad aesthetically fits perfectly to the compact Apple wireless keyboard. A clever marketing scheme that probably lures the customer into buying both if they have eye one one of them.
The functionalities are identical to the trackpad comes with the new Apple Macbook as seen below:
There are no moving parts (except your hand & fingers) and two little buttons hidden at the bottom pegs to allow the physical click, double click. The far end edge houses 2 batteries similar to the wireless keyboard.
The Magic Trackpad requires the Magic Trackpad and Multi-Touch Trackpad Update, available via Software Update or direct download
